Two mummies working from home… with a 3-year-old to entertain! Follow our adventures and get ideas for things to do with your own little ones in this blog!
No. 4 Giant Bubbles
Easy to make at home if you don’t have the kit already! Two sticks, some string or thin rope and washing-up liquid mixed with water!
No. 10 Scooting
Scooting is a great way to get our daily exercise and have fun! Plus people tend to move over for a 3 year old on a scooter so easy to maintain social distance!
No. 21 Box Craft
Using delivery boxes and empty food containers to make our favourite characters - can you guess who we're making?... check out next week's blog to find out who it is!
No. 34 Beach Walk
An isolated walk on the local beach made all the more fun with ribbons... easy to make, just tie ribbon on the end of sticks and enjoy making rainbows in the wind!
No. 54 Percussion
I don’t know if our neighbours will thank us for this, but quarantine is the perfect time to get practising on the drum kit! You don’t need a kit to practise rhythm and counting – just use pots, pans and wooden spoons! At the end of each lesson we march a 4/4 count to the kitchen for a cookie!
No. 76 Forest Adventure
Exploring an isolated local forest trail and foraging for sticks and leaves to take home for No.16 Nature Craft – check out next week’s blog to see that activity!
My Top Tips for having fun with your little ones during lockdown:
Stay local when going out for exercise, and avoid nature beauty spots.
Play games when you take your daily exercise to make it fun and engaging.
Plan activities the day before so you and your little ones have fun to look forward too!
Keep things simple and fun, in the end it doesn't really matter what you're doing, as long as you're having fun with your little ones!
Don't worry if your little ones turn into little monsters and your activity doesn't go to plan - there's always another day and another activity!
